This is a very nice refridgerator - but given that these units have well documented compressor issues its hard to be very happy with the purchase. My compressor died after only 4 years of use. Ill give LG credit for the quick service to get the compressor replaced and back up and running but wouldnt it be great if the compressor design was reliable in the first place?

11/1/23 Alexis Presidential Liaison from LG sent our case over to Ordering Department for Assistance. 11/3/23 Ice again was melting Freezer not keeping up to Temp. Crystals were forming on Frozen food. 11/4/23 I sent Another text Freezer not working Warranty phone number LG was not helpful unable to talk to a person LG Alexis sent a picture of a full ice maker which was not my problem 11/4/23 Filed a Lowes Claim on Website as system would not allow for a repair service 11/8/23 I Tried several times via Lowes Warranty phone number finally I had to contact Lowes Assistance manager who contacted LG Warranty who gave him a repair shop JDC Appliance ref # RNN 231108024077 I waited until 11/23 for this repair shop to contact me. I called them They said they had my phone number but was not sent the Ref number with in their portal. 11/14/23 I called Lowes Assis Mgr again He contact LG again and was finally given LG service on 11/16/23. This is uncalled for

We have had so many issues with this fridge/freezer. The in-door ice maker leaks periodically for various reasons. The freezer failed completely once then failed partially a couple more times in the last 5 years. Yes it was all under warranty but I dont have faith that it will last much longer now that my warranty is about to lapse. I would call it a lemon but LG didnt think so because it was fixable.

How weird is this - I receive an email from LG offering to enter in a drawing with a chance to win $500 for my opinion. It just so happened that my 4 year old 28 french door is now unrepairable. The first year saw a compressor replacement. Then peace in the valley for almost 3 years until about 2 months ago. Then one service tech after another replacing the compressor twice condenser twice evaporator once until it was determined unrepairable. Now waiting for a check from LG for only 50 of the initial cost of the fridge. Luckily I had an extended warranty with Jetson Appliance. They are picking up the other 50. Of course no reimbursement for the lost food inconvenience of being without a refrigerator for almost 2 months aggravation etc especially with having 3 children one infant. The funny thing is most people including multiple techs recommend the LG over any other brand. So I will throw the dice and stick with LG change the model to a side by side and see what happens. Definitely recommend an extended warranty. Lets see what my chances are of winning the drawing with this review.

Only had for 5 years and the compressor stopped working. So disappointed in this company for not standing behind their product. Especially because they had a lawsuit against them for the same problem on earlier models. I feel really bad that I recommended this product to my friends and family doesnt matter how much I loved it if it doesnt run. For the money you have to pay you should get more than five years out of refrigerator.

I had this for 3 years. Last year the compressor stopped working and I had to throw away over $300 meat and chees products. When I called the company they replaced the compressor at not cost to me. In the last 4 fours months refrigerator is no Colling as it should. The food does not last for more than a week and even products such as salsa and yogurt go bad before the expiration date. In the last 35 years this is the worst refrigerator I have purchased. I will never buy LG kitchen appliances again.

I would give this unit and LG a negative score if this format allowed it. Weve had this unit in place for just over 4 years and the compressor is already shot. Because this unit is used to store office staff lunches LG will not honor its 5 year warranty on the compressor. I will personally nor will anyone on behalf of my organization EVER purchase another LG product of any kind again.

LG produces the worst appliances. Im on my second dead fridge in only 8 years. If you want a refrigerator that will only last you 3-5 years and costs thousands of dollars then go ahead. But Ive learned my lesson and will never buy another LG product. If you dont believe me look up the class action lawsuit against them for their faulty refrigerators. Its not just my model its all of them. Garbage. And customer service wont cover the cost of the hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of spoiled food that my family and I are left with. Awful.

DONT BUY. COOLING PERFORMANCE NON EXISTENCE

Six weeks ago I purchased this fridge from Best Buy store. It took 2 days to cool down to 42 degrees F with no food inside the refrigerator. Since then the refrigerator temperature never went below 41 degrees F at best even though the refrigerator is set to 33 F. Freezer is set to -4 F but the actual temperature staying around 5 F or warmer. I have 3 thermometers in the refrigerator monitoring temperatures. Cooling performance is non existence. LG support is telling me it takes time to cool down. I told them my food is spoiling too fast. Butter in the fridge door is too soft. DONT BUY. IT IS A PIECE OF JUNK

I bought my refrigerator 3 years ago. I have enjoyed it. A few months ago my ice maker stopped working. I called LG after trying to help me the employee decided to use my extended warranty. After repair man came and fixed the ice maker I told him refrigerator was always so quiet but now noisy. He checked the freezer and said the coprocessor needs to be changed. Im thankful my husband got us and extended warranty. I have had other brand refrigerators and never had this problem. I think quality control needs to be improved.

Avoid Service Frustrations

Refrigerator compressor went bad within 4 years of purchase. Have been waiting nearly a month for a warranty repair and customer support and the contracted service company have been no assistance in getting this fixed. Repair company arrived with part and no R134a refrigerant to fix it and havent returned in 2 weeks. No other service techs available within 100 miles or more. Very disappointed with LG.

Early repair needed

I have had it for 4 1/2 years and the compressor just went out. It was covered by the warranty the good news but I lost many dollars worth of fresh and frozen food the bad news. I contacted LG but there is no compensation for spoiled food. I am disappointed that it broke down so soon.

We bought this beautiful fridge 1 1/2 years ago 2 weeks ago it started making a strange noise occasionally lasting a few minutes. I few days later we were awaken in the night with a noise that sounded like a chain saw going through our home It was the fridge it eventually died

My refrigerator is under warranty as of September 5 2023.. they have been here trying to fix it over and over it was fix when they left then it stopped working again and still not fixed as of today September 21 20 23. Something needs to be done.

I bought my refrigerator 13 months ago. The cooling fan quit working. LG made good on the repair and didi not charge me for it. Outside of this issue I have enjoyed my refrigerator and other new L G appliances.

Have had refrigerator for 5yrs now. 2 compressors and now a water leak from the ice tray area damaging my floor.... this has to be the worst fridge ever designed. Honestly I own 2 lG CX tvs and the quality here makes me wonder longevity for any of their products.

We purchase unit in April of 2019. Everything worked well until the compressor went out in August 2023. LG did honor the replacement at 100 paid once you get past the difficulty going through the problem with customer service three different times. Scheduling for the replacement part was longer than expected but at the end of the experience LG did come through.

Nothing is made like its intended to last more than a week. The ice maker seal is crap and so the ice is always clumped up in the dispenser. The door shelves are not durable at all. We have already broken one with two grown children at home. It is NOT print proof. The whole set always looks like garbage because we dont wipe it down every time we touch it.

We have had this refrigerator 5 or 6 years. In that amount of time the main computer has failed..the compressor has failed. Guaranteed 10 years they tell you but try to get it fixed. I have been waiting 3 months for a refund on the compressor. All I get from LG is roadblocks and promises but no action. I cannot recommend this fridge to ANYONE. The ice maker does not make enough ice space issue. It runs constantly. On the plus side it does keep things cold...until the compressor failed. Then I lost almost everything in the fridge and freezer. I am over 80 years of age. I need things to work just a bit longer then I wont care. Contact with their so called customer service is a joke. You get to talk to people in India or wherever...long wait and no results. I continue to try to work with them but it is frustrating.

Almost everything is perfect - ice maker works as advertised and when the ice does clump a bit its easy to break it apart and all is well again. Temperature settings are on the money and the frig seems to be quite efficient. Only one issue weve found - shelf adjustability could be better - the shevles must be at the same position across the width of the refrigerator which makes some shelves to narrow for tall bottles. Also the shelf depth means a lot of food can be stored but its behind others so it can easily be overlooked.

I bought this fridge in early 2019. In 2023 the compressor failed. LG repaired and the refrigerator and replaced the compressor at no charge to me. The fridge has functioned very well since the repair. I am very impressed LG. The process was cumbersome and took about 1 1/2 months to complete but well worth it

I have had this unit for several years. I functions well but the ice maker and dispenser has never worked right. We have had numerous service calls about the problem but it continues. the dispenser jams and I have to take it apart to make it work again. Hopefully they have preconfigured the unit for later models.
